Hello!

Nice to meet you! I’m Chantel, and I love all things creative. I’ve loved the visual arts my entire life, always ending up in the art room during any free time at school, and pursued the fine arts in high school - which is also where I discovered my love of music, particularly live music. I have a Bachelor of Science in Music & Sound Recording from the University of New Haven with a concentration in live sound engineering alongside music theory, arranging, and piano performance. Music has always been a visual as well as auditory experience for me, and I started looking for ways to combine my love of the traditional arts and creating visuals with my passion for live music, and found an outlet through concert photography. I believe live music is a powerful force, and being a part of creating that experience for other people and now being able to capture the magic through a lens while flexing my creative muscles has brought me a great sense of fulfillment. I'm currently based in New Haven, Connecticut, but frequent New York City, Boston, and other parts of New England, and I'm always up for an adventure traveling to shows.

Aside from the arts, the first and greatest joy in my life has always been horses. I grew up riding and have been very lucky to continue this passion throughout my life and to own a few horses myself, who are truly my best friends. They have long been one of my greatest muses in my visual art, and so when I started doing photography, it was only natural to include them in that venture. My equine friends continue to be my biggest source of inspiration and peace, and the barn has always been my happy place. I’ve since started photographing equestrian events such as horse shows and clinics, as well as some individual portrait sessions sprinkled in with around-the-barn shots.

I started shooting live events in 2022 and have been working on pushing myself creatively and technically. I've photographed artists like boygenius, Jukebox the Ghost, Andrew McMahon, Dashboard Confessional, Sammy Rae, Phillip Phillips, Mt. Joy, Noah Kahan, OneRepublic, Declan McKenna, and more, as well as the local Shoreline Summer Music Festival. I currently work with the online publications Alternative Lately, V13 Media, and The Concert Chronicles, and am also available for local hire and small tours. I’ve also photographed local horse shows and clinics and am available as your personal horse show paparazzi, to shoot for an entire show or clinic event, or to come to your barn for a one-on-one session (including black backgrounds, sale photos, horse and rider sessions, holiday shoots, and more).
